Tips and advice on ensuring Weight Loss success
for 2009
We’ve been in the weight loss game for a while now, and have come across our fair share of helpful tips and advice. We’re sharing some of this advice with you now so you are guaranteed to lose those excess kilos in 2009.
It’s very simple, if you follow our advice, use the Leisa’s Secret programme and products and stay focused this will work.
The Top 10 Weight Loss Tips for Success…1.Stick to the programme
While we don’t want you to be driven crazy by counting steps, weighing food and avoiding all social engagements incase you get tempted, we do ask that you read our booklet and follow our advice. Being lacks with the instructions given, sneaking food and slacking on your allotted exercise will slow down and even halt your progress. The only person you will be cheating is yourself. If you commit to lose weight, get the products you need, do the reading and be prepared to apply yourself.
2. Buddy up
For some people, not all, going on the weight loss programme with a friend will prove helpful. It’s handy to have a friend, neighbour or family member who you can talk to about any difficulties you’re having. The buddy system also ensures you don’t feel isolated as though the rest of the world is eating cake and you’re missing out.
3. Set firm goals
Don’t just have in mind that you want to ‘lose weight’. Your goals need to be not only specific, but also attainable. For example, you may aim to lose 15kg in five to six months. If you have a lot of weight to lose, you may like to break up the weight into mini goals. For example, initially aim to lose 3kg, then another 3kg and so on until you have lost all 15kg. It’s much less daunting to walk over a few smaller hills then to climb a mountain.
4. Reward each step
Each time you reach a ‘mini goal’ reward yourself with something special - not a piece of chocolate cake! Think of non-food rewards like a new pair of shoes, theatre tickets, a day spa treatment or an extravagant purchase you normally wouldn’t allow yourself.
If you’ve put in the hard work, you deserve it.
5. Keep a journal
Keeping a journal is one of the best ways of staying on track when you are on a weight loss programme. Get yourself a notebook at the beginning of your journey and write down not only what you eat and when, but record any negative feelings you may be experiencing rather than eating your way through them. Reading back over the journal will give you great insight into how, when and why you really eat what you do.
6. Keep the measuring tape handy
Along with having set goals, measure your progress so you can see how you’re going in cold hard figures. Weigh and measure yourself, only once a week at the most, and record the numbers in a book where you can chart your loss.
7. See it and it’ll happen
Visualization is a very powerful tool as any elite sportsperson will tell you. Visualize how you will look when you are at your goal weight. See the picture in detail, not only your body shape, but also perhaps a new hairstyle and outfit. Where will you show off the new look you. See how positively others will react when they see what positive changes you’ve made.
Keep this movie running through your mind, especially on mornings when you are struggling to get out of bed and go for a walk.
8. Be proactive
When you are on this weight loss mission, be proactive with your efforts. This means that rather than merely forgoing your bad old habits, actually adopt new healthy ones. Instead of sitting on the couch day dreaming about eating a whole New York Baked Cheesecake, go for a walk, a swim, clean out a cupboard (housework is exercise too), phone a friend (for support), just get busy.
9. Make nutrition your new hobby
As the old saying goes, ‘knowledge is power’, and this is particularly pertinent in the healthy weight loss business. While on your weight loss programme, read some books and health and exercise magazines and find out about your body. Once you realize exactly how much fat and sugar is in those doughnuts, and what they are doing to your body, you’ll be surprised how they lose their appeal.
10. Zzzzzzzzzzzzz
Get enough sleep. There is a definite correlation between poor sleep and obesity. The reasons for the connection between weight gain and poor sleep lie mainly with changes to our hormones when the body is fatigued.
Leptin, a hormone associated with appetite suppressing falls when we are tired, and the hormone grehlin, an appetite stimulant, increases.
Another hormone, cortisol, is usually released in response to physical or emotional stress. When we are tired, cortisol levels increase making us feel hungry even when we’re not. This is why after a bad night’s sleep due to too much alcohol or stress, you may tend to eat your way through the day. Try to get a good, unbroken 7-9 hours sleep every night.
At Leisa’s Secret we also get asked the following questions about our products. If you have a query, please remember that we are only a phone call away and we are always happy to help so you can realize your full weight loss potential.
How many Premium Meal Replacements should I have each day?
Most will have two per day. However, if you are after a more rapid weight loss you can increase this to three per day.
How long does each product last?
The Leisa’s Secret Premium Meal Replacement (which comes in chocolate, café latte, vanilla and strawberry) comes in a 400g pack and contains 11.5 serves (or meals), as each serve is 35g. Having two serves per day, this will last for six days.
The Leisa’s Secret ENERGIZE contains 60 tablets. As you only need one tablet daily, this will last for a couple of months.
The Leisa’s Secret Advanced Thermo also contains 60 tablets. Take one tablet before each meal three times a day. This will last for 20 days.
Leisa’s Secret Resist which comes in a 250g pack will last 16 days, taking 5-10g before each meal, three times a day
What’s included in the Leisa’s Secret set?
The pack contains one Premium Meal Replacement (400g in your choice of flavour), one Resist 250g Advanced Appetite Suppressant, one Advanced Thermo containing 60 tablets (high-potency weight loss support formula), and one Energise containing 60 tablets (high-potency energy boost formula).
I am lactose intolerant, can I use these products?
Yes, the only change we suggest is that instead of using low fat milk to mix your meal replacement, you can use either soy milk, rice milk or water. However, if using water you also may like to eat a piece of fruit as well to ensure you are consuming a sufficient amount of calories for that particular meal.
How much weight can I expect to lose?
A number of metabolic factors will determine your result within a given period. Remember we cannot guarantee the exact same results for everyone but we are very confidant that if you stick to the program you will achieve fantastic results!
No matter what the scales say on a day-to-day basis, make sure you follow the program for the full ten weeks before assessing your success on the Leisa’s Secret program.
How do I take the products?
You MUST shake the Meal Replacement as well as the Resist product to ensure the ingredients are dissolved properly once added to liquid. Please note that you cannot simply stir these two products as the ingredients will not dissolve properly prior to drinking.
The best way to drink Resist is by using 200ml of COLD water and shake well. Drink IMMEDIATELY as this product will thicken quickly once mixed with water. Then consume another cup of either cold or warm water immediately after.
